Sorry ah~ I hijack this thread XD
This is the same guide i posted in eboyy's thread. Hope it helps~

Red = Circles. Use it to check overall anatomy build. Can also be adjusted for chibi etc.

Blue = Constant shapes. These shapes only change positions. Does not change shape unless broken.

Green = Movement areas. Will change shape due to movement.

Purple = Combination of blue/green parts, but also the fact that they can be simplified. The shown one is simplified

Here's a really old tutorial I did for eyes. This is for real beginners, who know absolutely nothing about drawing, but want to get started.

EDIT: I would just like to state that this tutorial is for observation skills, just to show that the eye is more complex than two curved lines. It does not, in any way, relate to the actual eye structure in real spatial 3D.

CO2: i don't really agree with you on the seperation of the human body into those colour codes...some are not really accurate for eg. the blue parts don't necessarily remain the same shape all the time...body parts all have muscles and joints that are able to stretch and squash (like biceps and 'fat' parts of the body) so you shouldn't say that those areas don't change shape unless broken.

As for the green regions...i don't understand it even more. her boobs will move and change shape due to movement i can understand...but what about her pelvis?? in what way will it move and change shape? that i really dont understand...maybe you can draw an example to illustrate what you mean? if you're talking about the hips rotating, the green should extend further down in a conical shape instead of only the triangular part.

btw, the proportion is a little off...hands abit big and legs a little short.

I know this tutorial is for newcomers, but if you implement wrong ideas and concepts, and they absorb it during early stage of learning, they might bring this misconception with them for a long time until it becomes a bad habit in drawing. It's a good effort on your part and I"m sure alot of people appreciate it, but try to get your facts right before you post tutorials like these

Sorry, I don't mean to tear your tutorial apart like this...just concerned that you might be teaching the wrong things to others

first and foremost, i am not trying to demean anybody's effort in putting up tutorials. In fact, i applaud the fact you guys are willing to help =)

after reading kujo's post, i'm afraid i concur to that too.
i am a traditional guy when it comes to anatomy la... so i still STRONGLY recommend that artists learn the real anatomy of people BEFORE going into deformed styles (e.g. anime/manga/chibi/etc...)

I feel it's important to understand what the real thing is before going into deforming the proportion for different styles. Since we're here learning basic stuff, which is for newbies, IMO, they should learn the right proportions of the human body. They are tons of resources teaching human anatomy online, try Burne Hogarth, Andrew Loomis... but the best reference would be yourself, just look into the mirror.

Still, i greatly appreciate your efforts!

I have always thought only being proffessional and aware of your knowledge and status then can u surpass his own knowledge for the fact of educating the others. But if u are still on a learning process....then why not let the new artist get more radiated to professional guidiance.

Meanwhile there are other websites that teaches the correct method.Considering that this forum is inferior cause most of us are still learning , and hope tt we dun teach the wrong things even out of good will.

As a tiger , grass isnt its diet , but once adopted by the wrong parents , the tiger might end up eatting grass rather than meat.. in such cases the parent is a Cow ..But even such goodwill from the cow , the tiger will still ultimately die , simply because of "malnutrition" and "indiegestion"

the exact same thing the forum is feeding all these young cubs.

    Sorry sorry~ >_<
Next time i will specify that it is not the "generic" anatomy makeup, but rather what I personally use.
Lol, the weird thing is that personally, I myself am not very familiar with the real thing, anyway, point taken, and thanks for the feedback~
