Hi to the SGCafe community out there~~
Me and my friends recently started a group called KigCos SG. Basically this group is to promote Kigurumi in Singapore. But then, you may ask. What is Kigurumi?
Prior to actual facts, there are 2 types of Kigurumi. One is the animal pyjamas onesies that many people love. The other is Animegao, which literally means "Anime Face", which involves cosplaying with a mask.
So in other words, we are promoting Animegao kigurumi. (For more information, check: www.kigcos.com).
In our community, a rather notable cosplayer named Wyu was one of the first Singaporean kigurumi cosplayers to roam our little red dot. And yea, she got alot of recognition from all around the world. She posted a post about Kigurumi 7 to 8 years ago as well. ^^
Since this is a cosplay related forum, Just wanna check if anyone here wanna join in the fun, I'm from Singapore in case you're wondering.
There are a few kigurumi cosplayers playing in Singapore (most are in our circle) , but some are inactive or has hung up her cape.
If you are interested in seeing Kigurumi live in action, a friend of mine is dropping down at AFA at Suntec, from the 27th to 29th November. She will be cosplaying as Homura Akemi, from the anime: Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
But throughout 8 years of looking at posts, one common thing people say is that it's creepy, and that the eyes dont move, constant staring ~~~. Well don't fret. Being Singaporeans and having genius genes, Wyu has made a mask that blinks and winks. In a few years, we plan to be the first country to mass produce these blinking masks and beat the rest of the globe. (Check it out here: https://youtu.be/W-3K-Bsl838
So yeaaa, if you are interested or you wanna know more, do comment! We really want to introduce a new age of cosplay into Singapore!
