    (shame) I've never actually handled a camera before (don't own one/no occasion to) or even a camera phone (because I am so uncool like that).

    8D I'll certainly be referring to this thread in the future!

    ah... microsoft paint is not good for resizing photos.
    Download IrfanView, it's a free program that you can use to resize, adjust brightness and contrast, color. Download it at www.download.com

    Pictures taken in the abscence of adequete light will have alot of noise, and if there's too much noise, no amount of Photoshopping is going to save it. Your best bet is to take photos in natural light as much as possible.

    But that's just my two-cents, because I'm horrible with manipulating artificial light. ^^;;

    Adoi, don't use Paint. It's terrible for resizing pictures. X_x GIMP is a free imaging software you can try out.

    Just to add on some insights.

    Reducing Shakes
    To reduce hand shake, hold your breath as you shoot. Breath after shot has been taken. Tucking of your hands close to your body for support also helps.

    Also to reduce the blur, depress the shutter release (the button) gently as if your finger is lightly brushing across the shutter release. Dont squeeze the shutter release in excitement.

    Focus
    Your camera takes time to focus on the subject, trick is to gently half depress the shutter release, allow the lens to zoom and focus before fully depressing the shutter release.

    Please make sure your camera is on auto focus mode, if your camera doesnt have AF(auto focus) or MF (manual focus) options, chances are it is already AF (most digital cameras).

    Macro is the only way to do it in most of normal consumer digital camera, unless it's DSLR...
    Just turn on the macro function will do.

    Adrian: but why would you want to do that? 0_o the human eye is naturally drawn to what's in front, so if you blur the front and focus on the back, the effect will be very weird and people will just take it as a mistakenly-shot out-of-focus image. ^^ of course, you could try it and prove me wrong, but that's just what i feel from seeing photographs taken by people so far.
