Default too big a hat for anyone to wear.

i stumbled across this in the cosfest website.

and i shall quote it in it's whole.
    taken from here :http://www.cosfest.com/general/mascot/

The official mascot for Cosfest is D‘TailorT. D‘TailorT is a personification of the Father of Cosfest, Mr Takahan.

A creative and innovative man, Mr Takahan is versed in many disciplines like art and creating costumes.

He is also well known as the King of Cosplay in Singapore!

D‘TailorT is a symbol of Cosplay, sporting hand-made bunny ears, welding a needle as a sword and safety pins as adornments. He wears the armband of SCC and is clad in a leather-cast armory outfit serving as the eternal Guardian of SCC Square and Cosfest.
i have bold the area of "interest". was 3 areas at first but that was because of a misread.
anyways i still find that part really egoistic so i just put it to the fore here.(even for a private joke, it's still too much to be shown in public.)

basically, i got my answers in msn chat and editing this post as per agreed between takahan and me.

i'll just leave it to the SCC pr person to clarify things here.

by request from takahan, this thread will be up.
for anyone who wants to ask him anything or flames or whatever you people like.

    so... *shrug* shoot away.

    Guys you see,

Takahan is no longer in SCC. In order to honor his contributions, we decided to credit him as the Cosplay King in Singapore.

so, correct me if i'm wrong.

when someone is given the honorary retirement from SCC.

they get crowned with a spiffy title instead of having his/her achievements credited to him/her.

    funny tradition wouldn't you say?

and wouldn't clive, joash and andy(raywing) deserve that title as well?
tho two of them arn't from scc but have contributed to the cosplay scene.

worth a thought no? to crown them as kings of cosplay too.

I feel it rather presumptuous to claim Takahan as the "King of Cosplay" in Singapore - for SCC, though being the cosplay club of Singapore, has not has the consensus of Singaporean cosplayers as the local cosplay authority. More importantly, there has no consensus that Takahan is the 'King of Cosplay' in Singapore.

There is nothing wrong with honouring one's contributions to the local cosplay scene. In fact, I approve of it. But I think the way does not lie in claiming that on the club's own accord and definitely not with the ultimatum title of Cosplay King.

He is also well known as the King of Cosplay in Singapore!
This "fact" certainly wasn't well known.. I've not heard of it till now. To put out such a statement is sheer irresponsibility (from a journalistic point of view), with the intent to decieve.. It's a blatant lie isn't it?

It's like saying, "It is also known that SCC is also well known as the Club of Lies in Singapore", or "in order to honor the bold statement made by SCC, we decided credit SCC as the collection of liars."

If SCC have decided to credit him as the king of cosplay, I think it's best to state so on the site instead of posting up that lie. This is not even called glossing over the details, this is called lying your pants off.

Cosplay is not something created by SCC, it's rather presumptuous of SCC to be able to decide for the entire cosplay circle it's king.

    Forefather of Cosplay, yes.
    Father of Cosfest, yes.
Pioneer of Cosplay in Singapore, yes.
King of Cosplay? i think not.

Two issues I would like to touch on. Pardon me for my bad English. I apologize to Mr Takahan if I have caused any form of unhappiness.

    A . Cosplay king.....
Politically, morally, logically, commercially inappropriate to be conferred/credited to anyone in the world...by anyone or any organization....
I do not recognise scc square/ scc's authority to grant such a title....

    B. Cosfest is a project under the portfolio of the scc committee ïn 2002. As the president of scc in that year's committee, I do not acknowledge the title "father of cosfest" to be granted to Mr Takahan for the below justifications:
    1) Mr Takahan was only the assistance project director for the 1st cosfest
    2) Planning and execution of cosfest was undertaken by that year's main committee & project committee and the event should be considered as a club, not personal, portfolio
    4) There is a conflict of facts in scc's published árticle with individuals' resume and credentials when used in commercial presentations

    Personal reasoning
    3) "Cosfest" is a name I fought hard to name the event for "cosplay festival" in short

I would advise the change of content of the article to reflect a more accurate situation to give credentials to the correct people if not at all so as to avoid misintepretation of facts which took place in my term of office.

I am a mecha cosplayer and I am proud of it.

LOL I really wonder if SCC cares if any of us acknowledges it. The reply thus far is quite high handed.

Honestly speaking, I doubt so Mr Takahan will even wanna reply, since he and SCC are so thick-skin enough to use "King" as an "recongnisition" for Mr Takahan's "effort".

I personally don't know about the history of cosfest or singapore cosplay history, but i don't think someone will be so worthy enough to be rated "King" of Singapore Cosplay scene, unless this person wanna dominate the scene as his own rule, like a King.

From what the other thread regarding the trademark of cosplay, and what most poster said, I guess Mr. Takahan and the person who trademarked cosplay in singapore are the same person. So I guess my assumption above are more or less true.

If so, I guess he won't be bothered to reply anything for this thread, since he already expected fury in fellow cosplayers, and to him, he won't care, as long as there are gains for him.

I just went back to the site where Keokepa posted, I find the need to say this, the site designer had changed the name of "King of Cosplay in Singapore" to "Father of Cosplay in Singapore"

I chose to double post this is because I want to get people's attention to go there, and i see how you people felt how weak in SCC upon holding their stand.
