Default Comparing standards of cosplay/conventions with other countries

Anyway, what do you think of cosplay standards and convention planning in Singapore compared to (insert a country that has a cosplay community here) ?

    List of countries:
    Malaysia (c'mon, CF people)
    Thailand
    Indonesia
    China
Japan (I'm sure some people have gone to Comiket before)
    Taiwan
    Hongkong
    Korea
    Philippines
    USA
    Australia
    (European countries?)

Also, I want to know from people who had gone for conventions to said countries, to compare with our locals'. I've never been abroad before, so I don't have anything to say regarding this area.

At least, from what I know from some of my friends who went for Comiket in Japan recently, it's about the same, cosplay standard wise. Just that most of them are usually more photogenic. I do know that there's a no-photo area for cosplayers to rest or something. o_O

    -Edit-
If there's any countries that I left out, feel free to tell me.

Standard wise, I can't say much because I've never been to overseas events.

However based off what I've seen on cosplay.com, the Americans are really good in their craftsmanship; whether it be the costume itself or the prop.

The americans have their own garages with power tools and machinery, they have a lot of hands-on when it comes to making stuff like heavy props.

I just attended the cosplay event at Philippines.
Well it is my first time so i cant really say much that so far this is wat i notice. ^^

Cosplay events is like the holy day for cosplayers. but have to admit their props are scary just that they have a hell of a time to pass the security.
all building entrance has a officer checking every single bags.

kinda pity the ppl thou. They have to plan to reach to the event in time.
I actually catch the 3rd day of the event. I had to take a boat tip took and a 5 hr bus tip to the location.

The cosplayers stuff get picked pocket most of the time. so practically they just stand at one spot and photographers take pictures of them.

they wan to buy something they get someone who isnt cosplaying to buy them food/drinks.

I've been to 2 cosplay events in Melbourne, Australia.

They're more anime conventions than just pure cosplay events. So they have screenings, games, cosplay, merchandise etc. So it's good fun and there's heaps of stuff to do. The con runs for 2-3 days

    www.manifest.org.au

However the cost per entry is AU$15 per day so it can get pretty expensive if want to go for all 3 days.

The committee are a bunch of people who come from various unis all over Melbourne from Melbourne Uni to RMIT to La Trobe etc. and they revise the committee every year. They're great people to work with and very professional.

If you're in Melbourne during September, it's worth a look

The grass is always greener on the other side.

But then again, foreigners generally know how to handle and organize events better.

I've always found Caucassian people cosplaying Japanese anime characters a bit weird.

japanese by far seems to have the best cosplayers...

maybe they have more specialized supplier for props and costume...

singapore one a bit improvised... props... etc... unless spend a sum
    to import...
