Maybe it would have been better if the exact locations of anime shops in singapore were stated

Not to mention, for those ~shy shy~ closet otakus...
meeting people with similar interests and making friends with them > happy happy > more confidence generally IRL > PROFIT! 8D

Thanks for sharing the tips and tricks!
I am currently a Cosplayer Photographer but I do have plans in mind to cosplay some day (when I finally get the right body shape for the characters that suit my personality).
Hi all, i hope u dun mind if i post my questions here. I have been thinking of cosplaying since i joined the forums but due to various reasons, never execute my plans at all. I would like to know if going solo is a good idea since i do not seem to have the group of friends who is committed to cosplay, willing to take me under their wing so i can learn all about cosplaying? And also because of certain fear (putting contact lens for the first time) which is stopping me from proceeding with the plans. Hope u can give me some tips on this
thanks.
P.S Please ignore this post if you think its a stupid question >.<
You don't need to wear contacts if you don't dare...
I don't usually wear contacts... unless the color is v different.
You cna get the colored daily contacts. they are more comfortable.
i think i got 10 pairs at $48 or something... they are more exp too though.
get the optician shop to go through everything with you, from how to wear it to how to care for it.
Mmm... tell u what...
do your best in making your costume, go to events, find a coser of your fav series, go high with them and then make friends.
the cosplay community if quite small and tight knit.
i'm sure your newly made friend will intro u to more friends in the cosplay circle!
About the contacts, I recommend that you use dailies, it's more user friendly for people who use contacts for the first time and you don't really need to be so anal about hygiene for dailies when compared to weekly or monthly ones.
Personally, I totally hesitated in getting contacts for a while too, because I am a persistent blinker and also fear putting anything near my eye. In the end I still got contacts, spent 2 hours putting them in for the first time and after a while, with enough practice, it does get easier, and you will get over that fear.
As Tesun said, go for an event in cosplay, have fun and make friends and soon you will enjoy it so much you wonder why you waited so long to cosplay![]()
