Hmm I remember hearing quite a lot of announcement about lost&found handphones that day...but a proper lost&found counter works best, this is something that should be there for all events in general

For me I was quite irritated by photographers without proper event ethics. Some acted like it was their own private shoot and models, blocking other photographers, or those photographers who take photos of cosplayers when they're resting, or just not posing in general. I have no qualms if the photographers are personal friends of the cosplayers, but otherwise it's just unacceptable.

And to share something rather disturbing. I was waiting for this guy to finish with this photo and move out of the spot so I can get my photo, but apparently he was taking a bit too long. I got impatient so I looked at his screen and noticed he was zooming in the female cosplayer's womanly features. However he wasn't taking any photos so I thought it was weird, but only afterwards I remembered the red dot at the corner of his screen and realized he was taking a video >.<....creepy much?

    That sounds really scary...

There was quite a lot of people taking photos of me and my friends who were cosplaying as Pokemon Gijinkas, without permission.
Some of them seems like it's their first time there and might be shy, because one of them asked for a photo with me after I looked into their camera and posed.
But others are just plain irritating! Because some of them take photos of me when I'm eating! That's gonna be so unglam...

A first aid station sounds good though, at least one ready since AFA is such a big event that injuries can really be expected, especially when weaponary cosplays are very common too.

I bet Suntec has their own security team, when I was walking in the convention centre one even stared at me, so I guess there's no worry about security.

I also remember hearing lost and found announcements at the MiniStage, but actually that was not very effective as some people maybe in the main stage area or outside.

Glad that someone shared the same views as well.
Recently I see a lot of photographers with professional equipments. (BIG expensive lens lens, FF BODY with grip with flash guns x 2) Some even went to the extend of bring studio equipments like Wireless Strode Flash, light stands etc....

Can't they just reserve them for private photoshoot??

Saw a lot of people with strobes in 404 but I think they were the cosplayers' friends and probably sgcafe people as well

The worst ones who those who act like their own shoot, ask cosplayers to do specific poses and stuff while there is a wall of other photographers behind them, all losing their patience

    i agreed with you bro...

during then end of AFA day1...... A lot of people keep heading in out of hall 404 to find Props, Bagguages and missing stuff...

The Next day, I heard from somewhere in SUntec, they threw behind the Rubbish chute...But Sadly, i found NIL even though i only drop my Flash diffuser..

Here my Suggestion to prevent from this thing happening , as said,

"MANAGMENT OF THE EVENT AND AREA ARE BOTH NOT RESPONSBILE FOR THE LOSS OF THE STUFF"

    They were,

1.) Tag your Bagguage with a sticker or key tag which include your name and contact. - So that if the bagguage is found, the owner of the bagguage can be contacted.

2.)Make sure your stuff is been after by you or your friends.. to prevent any theft happening...

3.)Dont leave any valuable in your bag which left unattended ( or all, Not onli cosplayers, and also for photogragher who carry bulky items) example: wallet, Iphone, PSP, Camera and etc etc.

4.) Tape/Stick/GLue your stuff if you know the Stuff will drop or going to drop off from your Stuff...

Well sometimes there's "no choice" but to leave it unattended.

When cosplayers take photos they need to leave their stuff somewhere else photographers might complain about it being in photos. And not everyone has friends to help them look after! But then I'd say its their own responsibility for doing so :/

That's why people on sgcafe should know each others more so we can watch out for each others' belongings
And yea I remember seeing lots of luggage, props and other belongings left unattended in 404 as well

It is up to Cosplayers and event goers to take care and not leave your items unattended , in know you all like to leave your items scattered around at events then go do whatever you want . But if things goes missing stop pointing fingers . Even if organizers can provide you baggage storage room to solve this problem , bear in mind we have over a hundred cosplayer for big events, how are we going to cater to everyone ? Manpower to look after these bags is another problem too . I know for AFA and EOY , they have a Show Management Office manned by a duty staff so you can report any Lost & Found to them .

For Medical Safety wise , So far Cosplay events i see that have comprehensive coverage is Mascot Parade ( they have a ambulance and 2 medics on standby throughout the event ) for the first aid wise it's a 50-50% joint effort between the landlord and the event organizer .It's up to the event committee to decide if they want to hire medics at the event or not to .Otherwise the job primarily lies on the security Team It's now mandatory that all security guards /agents go under basic firefighting and first aid training plus a refresher course every year .So i believe should emergency occurs , they should at least know how to react and stop being anal assholes .End of the day , you know your body better than anybody . If you know you are unfit to cosplay stop and alert your friends or the nearest on duty security .Normally , i would tell those who have life threatening cosplayers to take it easyy at events and not get overly excited .

Bottomline : Every event , everyone plays a part , organizer and security or the landlords there can only do so much and alot of things are obligatory , not mandatory regulated to have there under the law . Most of the responsibility lies on YOU aka YOURSELF

After taking photos in many events here in Singapore as a casual photographer, the medical part is the most neglected as it is quite expensive to pay.
