    Default Sealing Foam.

Spraying Foam is such a hassle. Hence i'm looking for solutions that can easily prepare a foam surface for spray painting.. More specifically, craft foam or foam with similar behaviour when it comes to spray painting. Pva glue and water just doesn't cut out for me.

In addition, what works for you if you want a high gloss finish on your product after spray painting. I've been getting very dull finishes on my foam recently
You sir have uncommon common sense..

I was totally in the same situation as you for my AFA cosplay haha.

Well here's what I did to seal my foam and get a glossy product: Because I am absolutely clueless about the pva glue method, I just used gum paper from art friend and pasted the entire prop with it. Gum paper is a type of paper which sticks to anything as long as it is wetted with water. When the paper dries, you can just use the glossy type of spray paint and spray your prop. Of course, there's a matter of having lines down your prop especially if you don't paste your gum paper properly, but imo it's not overly noticeable.

If you're skeptical about the result of it, here's a piccie of my anchor prop, which is entirely styrofoam and the product of gum paper + glossy spray paint: may photo #12
    Yes, it's glossy. *w*

    Hope that helped~
