    - no abusing of moves , play with style and to have fun, and not to win.
Well if the opponent is so stupid (pardon me for saying this) to fall for the same tricks over and over again even though he knew what's comming next why not? This is a lesson to teach that other guy to watch what he is gonna do next
Agreed. However repetitive pattern will only make u a drone (no better than a COM)
    - don't curse/swear loudly if you lose, don't bang the machine either.
I got ppl who kana just one dm n make lousy comments (on my tactics/character) when I was suppose to be on the losing end(Complaining while u are winning?Wat logic?)...dislike ppl who throw their temper on the machines...it's ppl like them that the machines are in bad shape (that or slacking/non-existant maintenance crew).
    - no attacking the enemy when he's getting up from the ground.
Depending on which game u are playing...however remember your opponent are taking a risk when he's doing this.
    - no excessive turtling, fight like a warrior, not a turtle! ( Unless you're a teenage mutant ninga turtle, I've got nothing to say)
Sad to say, unless the other party give u chance to relax,u can never have excessive turtling.

N for bullying newbies....I can't help if they are the one who challenge me.....

Cheap moves can be countered only in a fair game with fair characters...... The worse senerio will be when u noe wat ur opponent is doing but u just cannot do anything..... I believe no one has encountered the extreme situation whereby u can win the character no matter what strategy or moves u do..... Somehow I encountered it....

Excessive turtling can exist......when ur character has a fast long range teleport like violent Ken.
I am a mecha cosplayer and I am proud of it.

i will agree with the fact that in the past, there is an unwritten/unspoke code of honor when it comes to down arcading.
it was not so much regulated by the 'ah bengs' as by self, and it was a community tenet that most players hold on to, because there was a certain pride in conquering within scrupulous means. of course, looking back, this comaraderie (yi qi) was the most hyped about thing in gangs and SS, as portrayed in the numerous gangster movies from HK in the 80s and early 90s. this abstract notion of honor somehow found roots among arcade players, and perhaps i am an old school player, i found much joy in sticking to it. not because i want create a distinct breed of homo honos praestantia, and i am a better man on virtue of my style of playing, but because we shared an idealistic concept of an imaginary world where capitalism is not God; there are other important elements in life other than the transient pursuit of mundane gains.

perhaps i am reading too much into this. but stripping away all the tecnicalities of what can and cannot be done in the gaming world today, one cannot deny the gradual and complete erosion of the code. it was a silent truce, it was something in which many players had embraced, and that shouldn't change the fact that it existed and was buried underneath the sands of time.

agree wif the comment on cheap players using "hidden chrs" to beat "normal" chrs in SVC... but i saw this guy use kasumi and trahed a person who challnged with evil ken and evil iori..
dunno abt "cheap" players coz at the arcade i go to, most playrers are quite ethical. some DO use cheapo moves but are few. and strongly agree wif the part on newbies.... i hate it when ppls challenge me when i learning how to use a new chr...
but the line btwn "skilled" and "cheap" is quite thin when it comes to combos... some players use angling attacks a lot... which is quite irritating... but faking the other player nids skill tho some may say its cheap...

    well, tats my 2c worth...

There's a difference between cheap, and cheesy, by the way.

Under the cheap category, there are turtlers, or easy damaging combos, or the usual over-grappling dudes.
This is common with MVC2 players.

Cheesy players are those who use a particular move way too many times.
They can be cheap, or cheesy, or both.
This is more common with KOF players.

"the line btwn "skilled" and "cheap" is quite thin"

this line refers to what kakashi refers to as cheesy players...
